Condolence & Memory Journal

Elmer liked to share his faith in Jesus Christ. He encouraged me also to continue sharing my faith in the Lord and wanted others to know the truth of who Jesus is. He was and is still a sweet man in his new residence in heaven with God. I am sure he is loving it.
You had a wonderful dad Dana.
Blessings,
Kraig Smith

As a proud holder of the World Famous "E Award" I owe so much to him in my umpiring and spiritual world. "E" taught me so much about "Manhood". There was no better example of how "A Man of Christ lives his life".

The world of Softball has lost a "Great Man".

GOD BLESS YOU "E"

Many years ago we were neighbors of the Snoaps on Bryant Street. John and I enjoyed the baseball stories Elmer would tell, and Elmer would enjoy our Dutch flowers. Our sympathy to the family. Jean Havenaar Lamoreaux.

What a wonderful man. He has meant so much to the sport of recreational softball in the West Michigan area and beyond. And that smile could light up any room. I was so honored to receive the "E" award in 2000, (and award which was established in honor of his commitment to excellence, endurance, and enthusiasm) and today looking at the plaque hanging on my office wall brings back the memories of a man that will truly be missed, but will live on through all of us who had the honor of being able to know him personally.

Elmer was a true gentleman and a wonderful salesman. He was always faithful to the Godwin community and its sports program. Bob Gregorski, retired football coach and teacher.

I first met Elmer at the Monday night table tennis club. He loved to watch Dana play. With a smile on his face he often told me, "Dana just beat so and so". He often wished to know the score of the games as they progressed. A true umpire I suppose. Rest in peace, Elmer. May we meet again.

He sure taught me an awful lot about umpiring in Wyoming. He was a great man that we ALL will miss. Rest In Peace, Elmer Snoap. Condolences from our family to yours.

Dear Dana, Nancy and Family,

I was so sorry to read about the passing of your father. I remember his face from his participation in the Godwin High School sports programs.
Please know I am thinking of your family at this very sad time for all of you.
Very Sincerely,
Debbie Nowack Baumgartner

My good friend, "E" as I referred to him, was always willing to go to the ballpark to be part of our local fast pitch team! Whether in Moline or Ada in the later years, after the game was a trip to the sports bar where "E" would have some red wine on ice! In the early years, when "E" was umpiring and I was pitching, if he had the plate, he would kiddingly say," Just get it close " to get a foul look from the batter! Yes, I will miss you my good friend!
