Allison was our first babysitter when we moved to Grand Rapids in 1986 with a two-week-old daughter. Allison and her family welcomed us to Grand Rapids and the Second Congregational Church when we were newcomers. We enjoyed Allison's company and appreciated the affection she shared with our little family.

May God help comfort Allison's close family and friends during this time of grief.

Allison was in my 4th grade Sunday School class at Second Congregational Church, UCC, Grand Rapids. She came to our wedding. She was a true spark, and I am sorry to the bottom of my heart to learn she is gone. God bless you.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Van Skiver Family. Allison was our early AM babysitter for the Dabkowski boys and no one could be as chipper as she was at 6AM! She was such a joyful and caring person and her acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
We will hold Allison in our hearts and cherish the gift of joy she shared with all those she knew.

Allison will be so, so missed by the staff at Art of the Table. Just this week a few of us long-time staff were remembering how much fun we had working together,so many laughs and life experiences shared,so many customers Allison built relationships with. She made the store a better place! And her gift of creative, delicious baked goods... there was nothing like it! I remember happily our very snowy staff trip to N Michigan. Ms. Vanskiver was one of the happiest people in our school. She was smiley, funny, and focused. She was extremely talented at her job, and helped many kids I know to get where they are today. She was willing to sacrifice much for others. May we strive to live a life with her example to follow. May the light she shined for Jesus Christ reach many through her passing. Praying for her family, friends, and coworkers at this time. Wellspring will never forget her. I will never forget her. We love you Ms. Vanskiver!!

When my daughter Carmen called and told me that Ms. Van Skiver had passed, our hearts broke. She was such an amazing person and mentor. Wellspring and it's students were blessed to have her. As for Ms. Van Skivers niece Emma that Carmen danced with at RSOD, our arms are wrapped around you pretty girl. We love you and are so sorry. Bill, Marci and Carmen Goodson.
